    Conference Overview

The purpose of this conference on "Leadership, Sustainability and Innovation" is to address the leadership, sustainability and innovation-related issues that organizations in both the private- and public-sectors are currently facing and are likely to face in the future, and to align the research accordingly. Further, the aim of this conference is not only to discuss these issues but to find solutions and initiate necessary actions. At this conference, we will attain our purpose by providing a "project incubator" using the knowledge and research of the world's best leadership experts. Members of academia, industry, and government will analyze in open discussion sessions specific topics, problems, and issues presented by the participating organizations and as an outcome will generate possible solutions and create research projects to test and implement these solutions.

We are fortunate to have commitments from leading organizations such as Infosys, Lockheed Martin, FDIC and AGCO to participate as "problem/context setters." The sessions are designed around the organizations presenting their leadership and sustainability challenges (the problem), pairing them with an academic partner(s) and a professional "design thinking" facilitator, who run a discussion about how we can design effective research studies to meet the organizational and research needs.

    Event Details

The two-day conference starts with a moderated panel discussion on the research and practice challenges at the nexus of leadership, innovation and sustainability featuring Professor Sandra Waddock of Boston College and Professor Sim Sitkin of Duke University. The four research design challenges presented by Infosys, Agco, Lockheed Martin and FDIC range from sustaining leadership excellence and talent to leadership of emergence and complex processes and leading for sustainability. More details and conference schedule will be posted at the NLS web site (http://nls.aomonline.org/)

Looking forward to seeing many of you in San Antonio,
