BENTLEY UNIVERSITY NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR PHD PROGRAM IN BUSINESS
Applications for the Bentley University PhD program are invited prior to the closing date, which is January 15th 2015. The PhD in Business has an overall theme of business, technology and society, and covers a range of fields– as noted below. Bentley is located on the outskirts of Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Bentley launched its PhD program in 2006 and has already graduated 27 students in Business and in Accountancy, all of whom have been successfully placed, almost all of them in well regarded academic positions.
For the class that will enter in September, 2015 we are looking for high-quality students in any of the following areas of business:
Accountancy: with an emphasis on behavioral accounting, audit and governance.
Information Systems: with an emphasis on social aspects of IS strategy, design, implementation and use.
Management: with an emphasis on governance, strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and ethics and social responsibility. .
Marketing: with an emphasis on social media and ethical issues.
Business Analytics: with an emphasis on the challenges and opportunities surrounding the explosion of "big data."
Students receive a scholarship that covers all tuition and a living expenses stipend of $26,000 per year. This is guaranteed for 4 years (with a 5th year depending on progress). We also have two Geneen Doctoral Fellowships who will each receive a $35,000 annual stipend to pursue research dedicated to issues in corporate governance. These fellowships are based on a gift from the Harold S. Geneen Charitable Trust. We have a special interest this year in recruiting Geneen fellows studying the intersection of compensation and corporate governance. The program also has a fellowship from the Bentley Center for Women and Business which provides a stipend $35,000 per year for students researching relevant topics.
