    The Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization (ISTO) at the Munich School of Management in LMU invites applications for the position of an

     

    Assistant professor in Strategy, Technology and Organization (fixed-term, German pay scale A13)

     

    The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary and international research group comprising management scholars and economists. You are expected to engage in developing ambitious research projects and publish in top academic journals as well as contributing to the teaching excellence of the institute. The successful candidate should also take an active role in collaborating with the faculty and PhD students and to participate in the development and management of the group.

     

    Prerequisites for this position are a doctoral degree (completed or about to be completed from a reputable university) in a relevant field, outstanding research, interest and skills in empirical methods, capacity for teamwork and demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate/graduate level.

     

    The methodological focus of the institute's research is large-scale empirical analysis of strategies and organizational structures, mainly in the setting of high-technology industries. ISTO offers a dynamic and international environment, with research and travel funds available for the members of the institute. The Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization (ISTO) also participates in the Organizational Research Group (ORG), organizing a weekly seminar series and hosting leading international scholars.

     

    The position is a fixed-term appointment for the duration of three years, with an option to extend for another three years pending a positive evaluation. A conversion to an indefinite position (tenure track) is not possible. The starting date for the appointment will be set upon mutual agreement.
