Innovation & Network Strategy Junior Faculty and Paper Development Workshop

The Entrepreneurship and Strategy (IG) offers a research‐focused junior faculty and paper development workshop at the 2015 Strategic Management Society Annual International Conference in Denver, Colorado. All members are invited to participate yet preference will be given to junior faculty who defended their dissertations after September 2010.
This workshop will include panel discussions and breakout sessions. Senior faculty panels will discuss critical aspects of the research and publication process, ways to craft a successful research program, future directions in innovation and strategy research, and other questions of concern for junior faculty. A breakout session will provide opportunities for participants to discuss and receive feedback on their paper in an informal setting.
We welcome papers on the intersection of innovation and strategy. A partial list of topics includes open innovation, technology alliances, crowd sourcing, tie formation and brokerage, regulation, user innovation, network architecture, and more.
The co-organizers of the workshop are Stefan Haefliger (City University London) and Jorge Walter (George Washington University). The faculty panel includes Andrea Fosfuri (Bocconi University), Keld Laursen (Copenhagen Business School), Aija Leiponen (Cornell University), Sharon Matusik (University of Colorado), David Obstfeld (California State University Fullerton), and Corey Phelps (McGill University).
The workshop organizers will group 3-5 papers that are similar in topic and/or methodology and distribute them to the participants. Prior to the workshop, participants in each group will prepare written comments and feedback on the other papers in their group. They will exchange feedback during the paper development portion of the workshop, with each group's discussion being facilitated by one or more senior scholar(s) familiar with the topic or method in question.
