Visiting Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship
West Virginia University invites applications and nominations for a visiting assistant professor position in entrepreneurship at the College of Business & Economics beginning January 1, 2018. This is a non-tenure track, continuing appointment position, focusing on teaching courses in entrepreneurship. The candidate hired will be a full-time faculty member in the Management Department, and it is currently the intent of the Department to renew your contract for a continuing period of time. We seek a person with the willingness and ability to help strengthen our entrepreneurship major and minor.
Duties will include teaching courses in the Entrepreneurship and Management undergraduate majors and minors, and graduate courses in entrepreneurship and/or management in the MBA program. Typically, the expected teaching load for this position would be four courses per semester. Service duties include supporting current faculty with developing current and future entrepreneurship programs by performing duties in student recruitment, student retention, program development and student placement activities. The service component also reflects a university-wide emphasis on entrepreneurship education. The candidate hired shall interact with the Management Department's entrepreneurship program and BrickStreet Center. Additionally, there are several outreach opportunities in West Virginia and beyond.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must hold either 1. A graduate business degree in entrepreneurship, business management, or closely related field and five years or more of executive level business experience or 2. A Ph.D. in entrepreneurship, business management, or closely related field with an ability teaching these subjects in a university environment. Candidates will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, and a strong ability to engage in outreach and executive development. Teaching duties may include courses at the undergraduate or graduate level for resident and on-line programs.
