    This is a call for Nominations/Submissions for the Doctoral Workshop to be held on June 5, 2016 at the SMS Special Conference in Rome. All doctoral students are encouraged to participate. Submission deadline is January 15

    The main objectives of the Doctoral Workshop are to foster interaction among leading faculty scholars and doctoral students on various aspects of research and on preparing for a professional career in academia. The doctoral student participants will broaden their academic network with senior faculty from around the world, meet with journal editors, learn about the publication process, and develop a better understanding of the particularities of the academic career.

    The format of the workshop will be a combination of presentations and interactive discussions among senior faculty members from major universities from Europe, the United States, and around the world.

    Submission Guidelines:
    All current doctoral students interested in participating in the workshop are invited to submit their Curriculum Vitae and a word document (3 pages, single spaced) describing their dissertation research as follows:

    (a) research question(s) and importance
    (b) intended contributions to theory and practice
    (c) theory or theories to draw from and core constructs of interest (include a conceptual model if possible)
    (d) the empirical context and methods, and
    (e) results (actual or expected).  

    Candidates interested in attending the Doctoral Workshop should submit their CV and a Description of Dissertation Research by January 15, 2016. The SMS office is currently working on the on-line submission system, which should be ready by January 10.
