The John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics at Weber State University (WSU) seeks to hire a mid-career Endowed Entrepreneurship Center Director to lead its Hall Global Entrepreneurship Center. The center consists of an Entrepreneurship minor serving all of WSU's 26,000 students. The center has a substantial annual endowment that allows for approximately $100,000/year to help fund student startups. The Goddard School has also constructed a new Bill Child Startup Center where students meet to work on their ventures with the help of Entrepreneurs-in-Residence who donate consulting time for students. The Goddard School also houses the Weber Entrepreneurs Association (WEA), whose former and current members have a long history of successful startups.

This is a full time administrative and teaching position, with a 2/2 course load (for tenure-track appointments). The ideal candidate will be an established mid-career professional (e.g., comparable to an Associate Professor rank).

The starting date for the position is July 1, 2017 (an earlier start may be possible).

Weber State University occupies a beautiful campus nestled in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains in Ogden, Utah, and is 35 miles north of Salt Lake City. The area offers year-round cultural events and outdoor recreational activities. Major industries in the region include aerospace, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, information technology, biomedical, healthcare, and outdoor recreation products and services. Ogden enjoys a growing national reputation for entrepreneurship, having been recognized repeatedly as a top destination for entrepreneurship and business by several media and government rankings and reports.

WSU maintains a small-school atmosphere despite its 26,000 full and part-time students and prides itself on its quality teaching, its commitment to meeting the needs of students at every stage of life, and its ongoing service to the community. WSU is a predominately undergraduate university, but has several excellent graduate programs housed within the Goddard School of Business and Economics including the MBA, Master of Accounting, and Master of Taxation programs. The Goddard School is committed to academic excellence as evidenced by its AACSB accreditation, and its students regularly achieve mean scores above the 90th percentile nationally on the ETS Major Field Exams at both undergraduate business and MBA levels.
