  • 1.  2023 Strategy & the Business Environment Conference (SBE) Call for Papers

    Posted 01-09-2023 17:12

We invite you to submit a paper and attend the 23RD annual research conference on Strategy and the Business Environment (SBE). This conference, which rotates among several top business schools, will be hosted by the McDonough School of Business (MSB) and the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy (CBPP) at Georgetown University on 05-06 May 2023. Conditional on the COVID-19 pandemic, our intention is to host the conference entirely in-person.

The conference explores the interrelationships between the business strategies of firms/industries and the social, legal, and political environments in which they operate. We are receptive to a wide range of research perspectives and methodologies, including formal theoretical modeling, quantitative empirical research, and qualitative research, in either developed or developing economies. Papers drawn from economics, political science, sociology, strategic management, and related fields are appropriate for the conference.

    Paper Submission Information

If you have a paper that you would like to present, please submit it for consideration by 13 January 2023.

Submissions should be original research papers that have not yet been accepted for publication. Working papers that include preliminary analyses are also acceptable.

Papers can be submitted through this Qualtrics link. The conference organizers will announce the program at the beginning of March 2023.

    Expenses

Georgetown (McDonough) and the Georgetown CBPP will reimburse the cost of airfare, ground transportation, and lodging for paper presenters and discussants. Meals are included for all registered attendees.

    Funding

The conference is funded by the McDonough School of Business (MSB) and the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy (CBPP).
