    Call for Applications

Academy of Management IM Division Doctoral Student Consortium (DSC) 2026

Co-Chairs: Marie-Ann Betschinger (HEC Montreal) and Juan Bu (Indiana University)

The International Management (IM) Division is offering a Doctoral Student Consortium (DSC) at this year's Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Accepted participants will be considered for an IM Division scholarship covering their AoM conference registration fee. Places in the DSC are limited; the deadline to apply is Monday, May 11, 2026.

The DSC is designed for current PhD students, who have an interest in international management, as either their primary or secondary field of inquiry. We welcome participants from all stages of the PhD program.

Confirmed panelists include (in alphabetical order):

    ·        Kazuhiro Asakawa, Keio University

    ·        Heather Berry, Georgetown University

    ·        Olivier Bertrand, Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) – EBAPE

    ·        Joseph Clougherty, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

    ·        Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra, Northeastern University

    ·        Bruce Lamont, Florida State University

    ·        Grazia Santangelo, Copenhagen Business School

    ·        Charlie Stevens, Rutgers University

    ·        Rosalie Tung, Simon Frazer University

The Consortium offers structured and informal discussion between participants and faculty panelists on research, job opportunities, publishing, and early-stage career strategies. A substantial amount of time is also set-aside for dissertation development, featuring one-on-one feedback from faculty in small groups. This is an excellent opportunity to receive valuable feedback on your work, as well as a chance to network and get to know your fellow doctoral students and leading scholars in the International Management field. Participants will also be invited to a "Meet-the-Editors" session later on the same day.

To apply, please submit your application materials to 2026 Doctoral Student Consortium files upload by May 11, 2026. You can contact the DSC Co-Chairs Marie-Ann Betschinger (marie-ann.betschinger@hec.ca) or Juan Bu (jbu@iu.edu) should you have any questions. We will inform all applicants about their admission to the DSC by June 1, 2026
