Consortium for Educator-Track Faculty:
Competencies for a Changing Management Education Landscape
Dear Colleagues,
Are you a Clinical Professor, Professor of Practice, Lecturer, or Non-Tenure-Track (NTT) faculty member teaching strategy, international management, organizational behavior, or a related subject in management? Or perhaps a DBA student or practitioner planning your transition into these teaching-focused academic roles?
We invite you to join us at the Consortium for Educator-Track Faculty at the Academy of Management's upcoming annual meeting in Philadelphia. Framed around Thriving as Educator-Track Faculty in Evolving Business Schools, participants at this consortium will engage in roundtable discussions across three interconnected areas: (i) Adapting professional expertise to academic roles; (ii) Navigating institutional expectations and career pathways; and (iii) Collaborating across institutions and divisions. This PDW will be led by facilitators with extensive experience and expertise in their respective fields. We look forward to seeing you!

OPENING REMARKS
Michael L. Barnett, Editor-in-Chief of Academy of Management Perspectives (AMP), will open the session with reflections that touch on the role of non-tenure-track, clinical, and professional practice track faculty in academia, pathways to publishing in practitioner-oriented journals such as AMP, and how the new AOM community, Practice-Oriented Scholarship (POS), can benefit educator-track faculty.
|
The session concludes with a synthesis of shared insights, a collaborative idea repository, and structured networking to support continued mentorship and cross-institutional connection.
|
