The PDW explores how the composition of scientific and innovation workforce shapes scientific and innovation outcomes and highlights the systematic barriers for underrepresented groups in science and innovation. We have a great line-up of speakers including :

§  Gaia Dossi (University College London),

§  Laurel Smith-Doerr (University of Massachusetts Amherst),

§  Carolin Lerchenmüller (University of Zurich) and

    §  Olav Sorenson (UCLA Anderson)

Rembrand M. Koning (Harvard Business School) will be the session moderator.

The first part of the PDW will feature 5 keynotes by our speakers. Michaël Bikard investigates the demographic factors influencing the technological impact of scientific ideas. Gaia Dosssi will share her research on the influence of racial composition of scientists on the direction and rate of medical research and innovation. Laurel Smith-Doerr explores how organizations and institutions shape inequalities in career outcomes. Carolin Lerchenmüller will discuss the health inequities resulting from lack of diversity in medical research and their societal implications. Olav Sorenson will reflect on macro issues related to diversity in Research & Innovation, with a particular focus on the diversity research in times of backlash.

The second part includes a panel discussion and Q&A with audience moderated by Rembrand Koning. Together, we will explore actionable strategies to enhance diversity in innovation, foster inclusion, and address inequities that hinder societal progress.
