Building on last year session on multiple goals in Boston, this symposium delves into the challenges of managing multiple organizational goals.
Managers today face pressure to meet environmental, social, and corporate governance goals in addition to traditional financial and operational goals. The demand comes not only from shareholders but also an increasingly diverse set of stakeholders, including board members, rating agencies, media, government, and employees who express their political and social values.
We believe traditional solutions to balance these competing demands are increasingly unfeasible due to heightened employee activism, omnipresent social media, and increasingly vigilant monitoring. This symposium extends previous work and zeroes in on multi-stakeholder management as a key context under which managers are compelled to prioritize specific goals and navigate the repercussions of deprioritized goals.
Featuring insights from leading scholars, moderated by Aseem Kaul, this session promises a rich discussion on future research directions.
Looking forward to meeting you in Chicago!
