Organizers:
This symposium explores the relationship between resources and firm growth. Recent work has recognized the importance of digital resources and their distinct properties in facilitating rapid scaling. We build on this line of thought, drawing on Penrose's foundational work to consider how diverse types of resources and firm-specific understanding of those resources contribute to the growth process writ large. The symposium integrates insights from various perspectives, including international business, entrepreneurship, and platforms, to examine how resource characteristics and their unique deployment by firms shape growth's nature, direction, and speed. Ultimately, we aim to deepen understanding of how heterogeneous resources and their firm- specific use contribute to organizational growth.
We look forward to seeing you there!
