Academy of Management Perspectives (AMP) has a revised format. No biggie, but we aim to change the world -- for the better even!
At AMP, we develop and publish empirical and conceptual papers that undertake rigorous original analysis to provide clear and actionable evidence-based insights for managers to credibly rely on to implement meaningful change in organizational practices as well as public policy.
It's a tall order! But we think we've put in place the right team and developed the right formats and guidance to get us there . . . We just need to spread the word now!
If you haven't already, please check out our website (aom.org/amp) to see detailed guidance on how to publish with AMP. Be aware that you may find one aspect especially confusing. Though the revised mission and new editorial team is now fully in place, the papers that will be published in AMP for the next several issues will still be in the prior format. It'll take about a year to publish the full in-process pipeline from the prior team and about that long for our current team to develop publishable papers under the revised format. So, if you notice that what we say we want at AMP doesn't quite match with what AMP is publishing in 2025, please note the long lag in switchover. We'll get there!
To further help to get everyone on the same AMPlitude, please join us for one or more of our outreach sessions. The next is "Ask an AMP editor", which will be held online on Feb. 28th, from noon to 1pm EST (NYC time). I will start it off with a presentation that explains AMP's revised format, and thereafter, I, along with some of our AEs, will hold an open Q&A. We look forward to seeing you then!
