    We are looking to hire an assistant or associate professor and are open to any specialization within entrepreneurship or family business. (Please note that the School of Entrepreneurship is separate from the management department, both of which are within the Spears School of Business.)

    The School of Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. While the preferred candidate has expertise/conducts research in more micro areas of entrepreneurship or technology innovation, we welcome applicants from all areas of entrepreneurship and related fields.

     

    The position will offer a competitive teaching load, a generous research start-up package, and a university environment that fosters multidisciplinary collaboration and research productivity. A generous research incentive program is also offered by Spears School of Business. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in doctoral teaching and supervision.

     

    Qualifications

    By August 2023, candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship (or related field) or be ABD. Candidates for the position should demonstrate strong research potential in entrepreneurship, preferably with an established record of publishing in top-tier entrepreneurship journals. We expect faculty members to pursue an active research program in entrepreneurship, help supervise doctoral students, and perform undergraduate and graduate-level teaching. We have a strong preference for candidates who are pursuing high-impact scholarship and who are able to work well with others in our collegial department.

     

    The successful applicant will possess:

    • Clear potential and commitment to scholarly research in the field through a demonstrated pipeline of published, submitted and working papers in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
    • Evidence of teaching excellence and course development (preferably in the North American university and higher education context).
    • Ability to combine research productivity with involvement in program development.

    The Assistant or Associate Professor position is within the Spears School of Business in the School of Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University (https://entrepreneurship.okstate.edu). The group currently has 6 tenure track entrepreneurship scholars who consistently publish in top entrepreneurship journals. The School is located on the main campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK and has an international research community consisting of doctoral students and faculty members from many countries. 

     

    The School of Entrepreneurship is one of eight academic departments in the Spears School of Business. The Spears School of Business is a leading business school located in Stillwater, OK. Oklahoma State University is a member of the Big-12 Conference. The School of Entrepreneurship was founded in 2009 and has received a number of national rankings and honors, has both undergraduate and graduate programs, including a vibrant PhD program. The School of Entrepreneurship is complemented by the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship, which is the outreach and student support arm of its efforts.
