We are pleased to announce that the third Bocconi Assembly for Innovation and Cooperation (BAIC) will take place on December 14 and 15, 2023, at the campus of Bocconi University in Milan.
Innovation and cooperation are often identified as two of the most fundamental drivers of growth and economic prosperity. However, our understanding of how they are accomplished is challenged by an array of rising forces: geopolitical changes, societal and environmental concerns, shifting industry boundaries, evolving technological ecosystems, increasing uncertainty, and competitive pressures. This changing reality calls for new insights on innovation and cooperation as well as their interplay. The aim of the Bocconi Assembly for Innovation and Cooperation is to serve as a forum for discussing and exchanging new ideas, and developing a research agenda on this topic.
We are thrilled to host distinguished speakers and leading scholars in the field of management. With keynote speeches by Vibha Gaba (INSEAD), David Kirsch (University of Maryland), Ramana Nanda (Imperial College London), and Lamar Pierce (Washington University in St. Louis), panel discussions, competitive paper sessions, and an open assembly deliberation, we aspire to advance this agenda and promote research projects that facilitate our understanding of above phenomena.
A distinctive feature of BAIC is the Bocconi Assembly Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to serve as a forum for discussing a relevant recent trend that bears important implications for managing innovation and cooperation. The theme for the discussion meeting of the 2023 Bocconi Assembly for Innovation and Cooperation is "Technological challenges to established orders". By fostering open exchange building on the preceding panel sessions, we seek to generate insightful ideas that can serve as a basis for new research projects on this important topic.
Papers
Presenters will have the opportunity to receive feedback from leading scholars and participate in the assembly discussions. Each paper session will feature three paper presentations followed by a discussant and open Q&A.
We seek complete submissions (40 pages, double-space, 12pt font, one-inch margins) of papers that demonstrate novelty, sound theory, and rigorous research design, with the potential of making important contributions to the study of innovation and cooperation. By submitting a paper, you commit to presenting it upon invitation. The invitation is personal and cannot be transferred to a coauthor
Submitted papers should include a title page with the paper's title, listing all authors and their affiliations, specifying keywords, and an abstract of up to 200 words. We discourage submission of papers that are at or beyond the stage where the paper has already received a second round 'revise and resubmit' invitation.
Deadlines
The submission page for papers will be available starting July 7th, 2023 on the conference website (https://www.sdabocconi.it/en/baic-conference). The deadline for submissions is September 3rd, 2023. Submissions selected for presentation will be notified by October 10th, 2023.
Lodging Expenses
Our sponsors, SDA Bocconi and ICRIOS will cover the lodging expenses of each presenter for two nights (or three nights for participants arriving on intercontinental flights) at the official assembly hotel.
Should you have any questions or if you need more information about the assembly, please contact (info.baic@sdabocconi.it).
