What are the economic consequences of advancements in Artificial Intelligence? Will AI lead to mass unemployment and erode privacy, or will it help tackle climate change and decrease global inequalities? Will it increase market concentration or reduce it? What will our organizations and business models look like?
Believing that solid research findings are crucial to informing the debate around Artificial Intelligence, IESE Business School (Barcelona, Spain) is excited to announce the first edition of its conference on "The Economics of Artificial Intelligence (AI)" to be held at its Barcelona campus on November 22nd, 2024.
We are honored to announce that Philippe Aghion (College de France, INSEAD, Harvard) will be the keynote speaker for the conference. His groundbreaking research on economic growth, innovation, and the economics of AI has profoundly influenced contemporary economic thought.
This conference aims to bring together scholars with diverse perspectives to foster a research community interested in studying the impact of AI on society and the economy. The conference will cover a broad range of topics within the economics of AI and its intersection with other fields such as innovation, firm creation/destruction, business economics and strategy, organizational economics, macroeconomics and finance, inequality, education, healthcare, labor markets, machine learning, market design, regulation and government policy, and privacy and national security.
All researchers interested in presenting a paper are invited to submit completed papers or extended abstracts (approximately 3-5 pages in pdf format) to https://apply.iese.edu/economics_of_ai/proposal no later than September 30, 2024. Accepted participants will be notified by October 15, 2024. The conference will cover the lodging costs for presenters.
