Our PDW is led by scholar Jennifer R. Bishop, who is one of the DEI board members. This session is PDW 89: Going Beyond the D, Focusing on the E and I 

    The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Division (DEI) of the Academy of Management (AOM) invites participants for a Professional Development Workshop at the 2023 AOM conference. This workshop is also targeted towards Organizational Behavior (OB), Human Resources (HR), and Management Consulting (MC). targeted individuals:

    •                 Work in Corporate America, Government, or Academia
    •                 Interested in DEI and being more connected in AOM's STR Division.
    •                 Understanding the importance of equity and inclusion

    The professional Development workshop (PDW) illustrates how Corporations can go beyond the D in diversity, and focus on the E in equity, and I for inclusion, by putting the worker front and center based on the alignment of Critical theory. This workshop will examine how scholars and leadership can acknowledge inequity and exclusive behavior in their organization and bring awareness for equity and inclusion and the steps to get there.

    There will be a breakout session led by the presenters/panelist of the PDW with the participants from the audience. The workshop includes:

    •             Panelist: Professor Darrell Burrell, PhD, DBA, DHed, – Marymount University
    •             Panelist: Professor Larry Clay, PhD, EMBA – Faculty, Business Management at Marymount University

    The workshop will be held in person. AOM conference registration is required.
