CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
Strategic Management Division (STR) Junior Faculty Consortium 2025
Time: 8:00AM to 5:30PM, Friday 25th July 2025
Application deadline: 30th May 2025
The STR Division is pleased to sponsor the 2025 STR Junior Faculty Consortium which will be held face-to-face at the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in 2025.
The STR Junior Faculty Consortium brings together teaching- and research-oriented faculty who have recently completed their PhD programs. The objective is to enhance the scholarship, teaching, and overall professional development of faculty in early stages of their careers at different types of institutions across the world. The consortium seeks to provide opportunities for participants to engage in research discussions with peers and distinguished scholars, exchange ideas about research and teaching practices, and other aspects of their career. It will feature interactive discussions about how to balance the competing pressures of teaching, research and service. Senior faculty mentors will provide first-hand and detailed advice about how to build a successful academic career in a range of different institutional settings. Most importantly, participants will receive feedback on their "research and professional trajectory" from their peers and senior faculty.
Our confirmed faculty mentors are Oliver Alexy (TUM), Janet Bercovitz (U Colorado-Boulder), Melissa Graebner (U Illinois Urbana-Champaign), Ronald Klingebiel (Frankfurt School of Finance and Management), Thorbjørn Knudsen (U Southern Denmark), Michael Leatherbee (Universidad Católica de Chile), Gwendolyn Lee (University of Florida), Joon Mahn Lee (Seoul National U), Cameron Miller (Syracuse University), Denisa Mindruta (HEC Paris), and Elisa Operti (ESSEC).
The 2025 AOM STR Junior Faculty Consortium will take place on Friday 25th July 2025, 8:00AM to 5:30PM. Pre-registration is required. To qualify, applicants must have completed their dissertation by September 2024, should be at least starting as an assistant professor in an academic institution in the Fall of 2024, ideally be in the first through the fourth year of their academic career by the time of the consortium. Selection for participation in the consortium is competitive given space limitations. Priority will be given to applicants in early years of their faculty position or those who have started a tenure track position, whose research and teaching interests fit with the STR division, and who are members of the STR division. In addition, participants must not have participated in prior STR Junior Faculty Consortia. All participants must also be registered for the Academy of Management Conference.
The application deadline is 30th May 2025. Applicants selected for participation in the consortium will be notified of admission decisions by middle of June 2025. Please apply using the following link https://bit.ly/AOMSTRJFC2025
