CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
Strategic Management Division (STR) Junior Faculty Consortium 2026
Time: 8:00AM to 5:30PM, Friday 31st July 2026
Application deadline: 30th May 2026
The STR Division is pleased to sponsor the 2026 STR Junior Faculty Consortium which will be held face-to-face at the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in 2026.
The STR Junior Faculty Consortium brings together teaching- and research-oriented faculty who have recently completed their PhD programs. The objective is to enhance the scholarship, teaching, and overall professional development of faculty in early stages of their careers at different types of institutions across the world. The consortium seeks to provide opportunities for participants to engage in research discussions with peers and distinguished scholars, exchange ideas about research and teaching practices, and other aspects of their career. It will feature interactive discussions about how to balance the competing pressures of teaching, research and service. Senior faculty mentors will provide first-hand and detailed advice about how to build a successful academic career in a range of different institutional settings. Most importantly, participants will receive feedback on their "research and professional trajectory" from their peers and senior faculty.
Our confirmed faculty mentors are Rocio Bonet (Instituto de Empresa), Daniel Gamache (University of Georgia), Manuela Hoehn-Weiss (Oregon State University), Eun-Hee Kim (Fordham University), Andreea Kiss (Lehigh University), Keld Laursen (Copenhagen Business School), Metil Sengul (University of Texas at Austin), Vangelis Souitaris (Bayes Business School), Valentina Tartari (Stockholm School of Economics), Tony Tong (University of Colorado Boulder), Roberto Vassolo (IAE Business School), and Pavel Zhelyazkov (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology).
The 2026 AOM STR Junior Faculty Consortium will take place on Friday 31st July 2026, 8:00am to 5:30pm. Pre-registration is required. To qualify, applicants must have completed their dissertation by September 2025, should be at least starting as an assistant professor in an academic institution in the Fall of 2025, ideally be in the first through the fourth year of their academic career by the time of the consortium. Selection for participation in the consortium is competitive given space limitations. Priority will be given to applicants in early years of their faculty position or those who have started a tenure track position, whose research and teaching interests fit with the STR division, and who are members of the STR division. In addition, participants must not have participated in prior STR Junior Faculty Consortia. All participants must also be registered for the Academy of Management Conference.
