Now that AOM is over, what's next on the conference circuit?  The Israel Strategy Conference in Herzliya!

The Israel Strategy Conference (ISC) will be holding a Doctoral Consortium at the ISC 2022 meetings. The consortium will be held at Reichman University, Herzliya, Israel on Sunday, December 18 from 10AM to 6PM. The ISC Doctoral Consortium is most valuable to Ph.D. candidates interested in conducting leading-edge research and teaching in Strategy and related areas. The consortium will address key issues in academic life such as current and future themes in strategy, thesis development, and getting published in top journals, among other issues.

Doctoral students in the proposal/dissertation stage will have the opportunity to present their research, and receive feedback, in a thesis development workshop. Doctoral students who do not wish to present their research are still invited to apply to the doctoral consortium; however, preference will be given to more advanced students. The application deadline for students wishing to present their work is September 15th, 2022. The application deadline for students wishing to attend without presentation is November 1st, 2022. Only electronic applications will be considered. For further information about the consortium, and to apply, please visit the consortium website at: Doctoral Consortium Webpage: www.isc.org.il

Students attending the doctoral consortium must register to the Israel Strategy Conference. Student discount rates apply and there is no additional charge for attending the Doctoral Consortium.

The Consortium will be comprised of three components:

    1. "Current and future themes in Strategy" – panelists will present their views of emerging "hot" topics in the general management field, and students will be invited to suggest ideas and jointly speculate how they may play in the wider audience of strategy research.

    1. "Getting published in top journals" -- a panel discussions aimed at conveying to students some proven techniques of (1) framing research questions, (2) research design, (3) packaging, (4) dealing with editors and reviewers.

    1. "Thesis Development Workshop" – a select group of doctoral students will have an opportunity to present their research and receive guidance and commentary from senior faculty. Selection for this workshop is highly competitive.

    Application and admission

Admission preference will be given to students whose research is at the dissertation proposal stage. Doctoral students who do not wish to present their research at the thesis development workshop are still invited to apply and attend the doctoral consortium. Only those students wishing to present their research will be required to submit an abstract and a nomination letter. The dissertation ideas should be sufficiently developed to allow for a clear presentation of the theory and research design, but leave significant room for revision based on comments received at the consortium. A nomination letter by a faculty member relating to the state of the applicant's dissertation research is required as part of the application process. Students attending the doctoral consortium must register to the ISC. Student discount rates apply.

To apply, please visit the doctoral consortium page of the ISC website at http://www.isc.org.il/ , complete the application form and upload the following documents:

    • An updated Curriculum Vita.  Students applying to the Thesis Development Workshop should also submit via email to Adam Kleinbaum (Adam.M.Kleinbaum@tuck.dartmouth.edu) and Annamaria Conti (annamaria.conti@unil.ch)
    • A brief abstract of your dissertation research. The abstract should be no longer than two pages of text and one page of references (adhering to the ISC proposal submission guidelines).
    • A nomination letter from a supervising faculty member attesting that the student is in good standing and referring to the progress of the applicant's dissertation research.

    Application Deadlines
