The next EOS Masterclass is up on June 30th, 2025. Elizaveta Konovalova (Warwick) will visit us and give a talk on the combination of models and experiments.
Liza will go over three cases of interaction of theoretical models and experimental data. First, experiments are most often used in model comparisons. A well-designed experiment can help you determine the model that best fits that data. Second, experiments can test model assumptions. Sometimes, we deal with models that are hard to validate directly (i.e., agent-based models of organisational behaviour). Here, we can use experiments to, instead, validate the basic assumptions of the model. Finally, we can use models to generate new predictions about patterns of behaviour that can be tested in an experiment.
The Masterclass will be held on June 30th 2025, 2PM - 3.30PM (CET).
