    March 26-28, 2026
    University of Mississippi

    Oxford, MS

The Southern Entrepreneurship Research Consortium will host the 2026 Entrepreneurship Research Incubator Conference at the University of Mississippi (i.e., Ole Miss) in Oxford, MS. This developmental research incubator facilitates connections among entrepreneurship scholars and scholars from other disciplines to promote and enhance entrepreneurship research productivity and foster collaboration among colleagues throughout the Southern region of the United States. Past incubators have produced research projects that resulted in publications in the leading entrepreneurship journals and grants funded by agencies such as the National Science Foundation.

The conference is targeted to any tenure-track faculty and doctoral students who would like to focus on starting new research projects in entrepreneurship with a dynamic group of scholars. Scholars outside of entrepreneurship who are interested in conducting research in entrepreneurship are most welcome. The conference will also include a research design sprint, research incubation sessions, and opportunities to learn about innovative research methodologies and research contexts.

The 2026 conference will feature sessions with Erik Monsen (University of Vermont), Lou Marino (Kennesaw State)Jon Carr (NC State)Clay Dibrell (Ole Miss), Theresa Welbourne (University of Alabama), Sharon Simmons (Jackson State University), and Jorge Arteaga Fonseca (Mississippi State University).

Registration is free for doctoral students and only $100 for academics at any level. As part of the registration, please submit a one-page proposal that is either:

    1. Launching your Paper - an early-stage concept or idea for which you would like comments/model/suggestions or
    2. Scaling your Paper - a current work in progress that is more fleshed out/has data/etc.
