    Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing well.

Regarding our PDW on Interdisciplinary Approaches to Entrepreneurship: Challenges and Opportunities

Which will be held on Saturday, Jul 26 2025 1:00PM - 2:30PM at the Bella Center in MR176/17.

We aim to collaboratively explore the incentives, pros, and cons of adopting an interdisciplinary approach to studying entrepreneurship. While interdisciplinarity is a growing trend in management studies, we'll question if it's always beneficial and what risks it might entail. We'll engage with seasoned experts who have built their careers on interdisciplinary foundations. Subsequently, we'll work in groups to share our ongoing projects, perspectives, and institutional experiences related to interdisciplinarity in entrepreneurship, to develop clear future strategies

    Agenda:

    Daniel Muzio Welcome and Overview

Howard Aldrich Example 1: ENT & Anthropology

Lucia Naldi Example 2: ENT & Economics

Kimberly Eddleston (online) Editorial challenges in managing interdisciplinary papers in ENT 10 50

Roundtable & Group Presentations (lead and wrap-up: Cristina Bettinelli)

Attendants will discuss issues and experiences, divided into groups, with organisers/presenters

Each group will offer feedback on their discussions

    Tommaso Minola De-brief and conclusion

An example of an interdisciplinary approach is... sparkling wine!. Despite competing in the production of high-quality sparkling wine using similar methods, Franciacorta and Champagne stand apart by adopting distinct 'interdisciplinary' production approaches, which reflect the unique philosophies, terroirs, and traditions specific to each appellation. To encourage participation, PDW attendees who answer the preparatory questions HERE will be entered into a draw to win a bottle of Bellavista Cuvée, a top competitor to Champagne. THE WINNER WILL BE COMMUNICATED AT THE END OF THE PDW.

We look forward to an engaging and insightful session.

Although the PDW is sponsored by ENT division, it is open to any scholar interested in entrepreneurship research, including those from other divisions (like STR, TIM, OMT and many others)

    Best regards,

    The PDW chairing team
