    Apologies for cross-posting

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for a Lecturer (3-year renewable term), Senior Lecturer (5-year renewable term) or Professor of Practice (5-year renewable term) position in our Management & Organizations (M&O) area, with a school affiliation in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. This is an open-rank position, and the rank of the position will depend upon the qualifications of the successful candidate. The intended start date of this position is July 1, 2023, but deferred start also possible. The position will be based in Ithaca, NY.

Much or all of the successful candidate's teaching is expected to take place within the Grand Challenges Program, with other responsibilities including advising students and participating in School service. The Grand Challenges Program is a required part of the Dyson undergraduate curriculum that provides its students an unique opportunity to use their business skills to make a positive impact at a local, regional, national, or international level using the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a framework. It seeks to build awareness among students of the broader impacts of business on society and, in the process, to strengthen their professional and personal skills through a multi-year, immersive educational program. The Program includes second-year written expression courses designed to improve writing skills while developing ethical awareness and a critical understanding of the positive and negative impacts of business. It culminates in a semester-long, client-facing experiential learning project, in which teams of seniors work under the close supervision of a member of the business faculty and of MBA or other graduate or professional students to address some of the most important societal challenges of our time.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach senior team project courses, written expression courses, and potentially other courses in the Grand Challenges curriculum and to contribute to Grand Challenges Program vision, strategy, and general oversight in partnership with the Grand Challenges Program Manager and Director. This position is a research, teaching and extension (RTE) track role and is an ideal position for management professionals with teaching, research, and industry experience but who want to focus on practical, community engaged, project-based teaching, leveraging their professional experience and networks in the private sector.
