    How Demand Shocks “Jumpstart” Technological Ecosystems and Commercialization: Evidence from the Global Electric Vehicle Industry

    • This study finds that extreme weather events increase salience of environmental threats leading to ‘demand shocks’, increasing users’ adoption of alternative technologies, and accelerating these technologies’ commercialization, despite ecosystem bottlenecks.

    Resource Redeployment and the Pursuit of the New Best Use: Economic Logic and Organizational Challenges
         by Daniel A. Levinthal and Brian Wu

    • We enrich the work on resource redeployment by considering both the underlying economic logic of why a “new first-best” use lies within the firm and the organizational “pipes” (organizational structures) and “prisms” (the various metrics of performance) by which resource redeployment occurs.

    • New paper on technology information disclosures and M&A: This study joins research on contracting and technology acquisitions to investigate Material Adverse Change clauses and earnouts, which protect acquirers from adverse selection risks.
