Hello STR Members
AoM has now posted the call for submissions for the 2024 annual conference in Chicago with the timely theme "Innovating for the future: Policy, purpose, and organizations." The theme raises many relevant questions for STR, and I look forward to seeing all the exciting sessions that the STR program team will put together.
The planning for the 2024 August Annual Meeting is already underway, and you will receive a call from Assistant Program Chair, Isin Guler (University of North Carolina), for pre-conference submissions. The aim of the PDW program is to foster developmental sessions for our community. Program Chair, Brian Wu (University of Michigan), will reach out with the call for paper and symposia submissions. I hope to see many submissions to STR. Brian will also appeal to you to sign up to review for STR. Please do consider reviewing for STR – it is a great way to give back to the community.
I would also like to encourage you to start thinking about nominees for the STR career awards. Division Chair Elect, Deepak Somaya (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign), and the STR Awards Committee will be seeking your nominations for the career awards. Deepak will also be looking for submissions for the STR dissertation award.
Finally, Past Division Chair, Michael Leiblein (Ohio State University), will reach out to seek your nominations for the future leaders of our division.
The activities of our division are off to a good start, and you may have already attended some of the online activities that have taken place this fall. If not, you can always find them on the STR YouTube channel or as podcasts on Spotify. Please also keep an eye on the discussion board here for posts about future activities.
I hope you will engage with the division in preparation for Chicago 2024, and I look forward to seeing you there, if not before at one of our virtual events!
