If you are coming to Boston in the early August (and have some free time on Sunday, August 6th in your AoM schedule), consider attending the following one-day conference at Northeastern University:

    STATES, FIRMS AND SUSTAINABILITY

    When: 6th August 2023, Sunday, 9:00-18:30

Where: Northeastern University, Raytheon Amphitheater, Egan Research Center, 120 Forsyth St, Boston, MA

    Objectives:

The mini-conference "States, Firms and Sustainability" brings together scholars exploring how the states interact with firms to improve sustainability. It analyses novel ways in which the government and firms collaborate to address sustainability challenges, directly through state-owned entities like state-owned firms and sovereign wealth funds, and indirectly through regulations, subsidies, and taxes. The mini-conference also seeks to stimulate a discussion about practical relevance of academic research with input from practitioners. The conference is kindly sponsored by Brandeis University, the Center for Emerging Markets at Northeastern University, Loughborough University London, and the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies (SAMS). We dedicate the conference to Ivan Montiel, who was a passionate sustainability scholar.
