I am starting a new series on the New Books Network

The first one is on a book called Fatal Abstraction by Darryl Campbell

This book deals with issues at companies like Boeing and Facebook and questions the dominance of MBAs in top corporate leadership. It revives the argument that Thorsten Veblen made of competing logics, an industrial one of engineers and production experts who work to meet society's needs, versus a business logic  of owners, managers, and financiers whose primary goal is short term profits no matter what the consequences. 

I think you will enjoy the interview  (even if the interviewer is a bit rusty).
