I’m delighted to share that my new 6e, “Strategic Management,” has just been published. For an overview, see https://www.ftrStrategy.com/.

    New Content and Cases

    • Chapter 5 has an entirely new focus by framing the discussion of competitive advantage around creating value for all stakeholders, reflected in the new chapter title “Shared Value and Competitive Advantage.”
    • 6e Connect includes 12 new/updated teaching cases as of 2023. The 6e Connect case line-up consists of Airbnb, Apple, Best Buy, Disney, McDonald’s, Netflix, Nike, Peloton (new), Rivian (new), Starbucks, Tesla, and Uber (new).
    • The new 6e Connect also includes 15 prior edition cases, totaling 27 (!) full-length cases.
    • Individual cases are available at Harvard Business Publishing here, including the new case “Purdue Pharma and the Opioid Addiction Crisis.”
    • Nine (!) new out of the 12 MiniCases. The new MiniCases feature Chick-fil-A, Dr. Dre (Beats Electronics), Microsoft, Purdue Pharma, Robinhood, Tiffany and LVMH, Tinder and Bumble, Toms Shoes, and Warby Parker.
    • Each full-length and MiniCase comes with a detailed teaching note.
    • We provide industry-leading teaching resources, including slide decks, instructor manual, test bank, and videos.

    Capstone Simulation Bundle

    • A discounted digital bundle of the new 6e e-book + Capstone Strategy simulation is available here.

    New Content Delivery

    • SmartBook is a fully adaptive and individualized study tool that provides students with a personalized learning experience. SmartBook allows the instructor to set up all assignments before the semester, have them auto-released on preset dates, and receive auto-graded progress reports for each student and the entire class.
    • Application-Based Activities are interactive mini-simulations that challenge students to use problem-solving skills and apply their knowledge to realistic strategic decision scenarios.
