Position Summary
The College of Business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking applicants for the position of non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice in Management beginning in Fall 2023. The faculty member will be an integral part of the Department's and College's long-term commitment to teaching excellence and will be expected to teach a variety of courses in management (i.e., strategy, OB/HR) at the undergraduate and graduate levels, both online and in person.
Professors of Practice are teaching specialists and are hired on multi-year contracts, renewable subject to performance. Responsibilities will include 80% teaching (four sections each Fall and Spring semester, or the annual equivalent) and 20% service. For candidates with a doctorate, responsibilities will be 80% teaching, 10% research, and 10% service. A reduced teaching apportionment may be possible with expanded service commitments. This will be an academic year (i.e., nine-month) appointment. Local residency is required, as the majority of teaching responsibilities will be conducted in person. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and will be competitive with Big Ten Universities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
- A doctoral degree from an accredited university with a specialization in management or a related area.
- A graduate business degree with significant teaching experience.
- A graduate business degree with significant corporate/professional experience.
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to effectively teach university-level courses.
- Applicants who are currently pursuing the above degree will be required to complete it by the beginning date of their appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level, including large lecture or online sections of undergraduate and graduate courses.
