We are excited to invite you to our Professional Development Workshop (PDW) at the upcoming Academy of Management Annual Meeting: "AI and the Future of Opportunity, Judgment, and Uncertainty: Revisiting Knight, Hayek, and Kirzner." The PDW is sponsored by the AOM ENT Division.
Generative and agentic AI are rapidly transforming how we think about opportunity, judgment, knowledge, and uncertainty-concepts that sit at the core of classical and contemporary theories of entrepreneurship and strategic decision-making. As AI systems become increasingly involved in information discovery, prediction, creativity, and stakeholder interaction, the foundational ideas of Frank Knight, F. A. Hayek, and Israel Kirzner invite renewed theoretical attention.
We are honored to feature an outstanding group of panelists and mentors: Sharon A. Alvarez, Rajshree Agarwal, Judy Rady, Peter Klein, Teppo Felin, and David Townsend.
The PDW will have two parts. The first part will feature an open panel discussion with our invited panelists. The second part will provide in-depth feedback to 30 selected research projects.
Scholars at all career stages working in entrepreneurship and strategy are encouraged to apply. We welcome abstracts of up to 1,000 words; references may be included separately.
