The Chair for Entrepreneurship and Innovative Business Models at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) is inviting applications for a full-time PhD / Research Associate position (m/f/d) starting April 1, 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The position is fully funded (100%, TV-L E13).
Our chair, led by Prof. Dr. Stefanie Bröring, investigates how new technologies and scientific knowledge evolve into successful innovations and business models. We collaborate closely with industry partners, the Worldfactory Start-up Center at RUB, and international research institutions to advance understanding in the fields of technology and innovation management, entrepreneurship, and new business model development.
Position Highlights:

Conduct research in entrepreneurship, innovation management, and emerging/circular business models

Develop your own PhD dissertation project within these domains
-
Contribute to a federally funded research project on technology transfer strategies and circular business model design

Engage in teaching activities at the undergraduate and graduate level

Present your work at international conferences and collaborate with academic and industry partners

Participate in ongoing publications and research initiatives
Qualifications:

Excellent master's degree in business/economics or a related field

Strong analytical skills and willingness to acquire new methodological approaches

Experience with surveys, expert interviews, or workshop facilitation is an asset

Excellent English skills and strong academic writing capabilities

Motivation for academic research and ability to work independently and collaboratively
