POSITION: The Department of Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University invites applications for Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor in Entrepreneurship and Creativity to teach multiple sections of ESP 103: Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurial Thinking. This position is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The start date for this position is August 21, 2023.
BACKGROUND: ESP 103 is part of the required First Year Integrated Core (FYIC) curriculum for all Farmer School of Business majors. The FYIC is an innovative four-course bundle that teaches students critical skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, computational thinking & coding, ethical thinking, communication, and collaboration. As an ESP 103 teacher, you will be a part of a team of faculty who works collaboratively to integrate these critical skills across all four FYIC classes (BUS 101: Foundations of Business; BUS 102: Foundations of Business Communication; ESP 103: Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Thinking; and BUS 104: Introduction to Computational Thinking for Business). A successful candidate will share the values of collaboration, entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in undergraduate teaching. REQUIRED: A Ph.D. in business, creative studies, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date for a Visiting Assistant Professor position. A master’s degree in business, creative studies, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date for an Instructor position.
DESIRED: Consideration may be given to candidates with teaching or work experience related to general entrepreneurship, start-up, corporate, creative, or social entrepreneurship.
