Are you coming to SMS? Please join us for the panel How to Use Corporate Strategy Research in the Classroom with esteemed professors Laurence Capron (INSEAD), Minyuan Zhou (WashU), Michael Jensen (Michigan Ross), and Saikat Chaudhuri (UC Berkeley Haas), bringing their decades-long experience in teaching corporate strategy to MBA students and executives.

    About the panel
Corporate strategy is a fundamental component of undergraduate, graduate, and executive management programs. Unlike competitive strategy, which relies on well-established frameworks such as Porter's Five Forces, VRIO, and value-based strategy, corporate strategy can be taught from multiple research traditions. These include transaction cost economics (TCE), the resource-based view (RBV), sociological perspectives, the shareholder value perspective, and empirical research.

This panel aims to explore how these diverse perspectives can serve as the foundation for corporate strategy courses in business schools. Four experienced faculty members will share and discuss how they integrate academic research into their teaching.

The session will be highly interactive, offering ample opportunities for audience participation and discussion.
