Dear colleagues,
We are excited to invite submissions for the fourth STR Professional Development Workshop (PDW) for South America. This virtual event is designed for PhD candidates and early-career scholars across the region, offering an opportunity to refine their research, gain publication insights, and network with peers and experienced scholars in the field of strategy.
Workshop Structure:
The PDW is divided into two parts, and participants may choose to register for only the first part if they prefer.
Part 1: Panel Discussions (Open to All Registrants)
Throughout the first part of the workshop, invited panelists will share their experiences and insights on building a successful research career, publishing in top management journals, and effectively leveraging data from emerging markets.

Part 2: Paper Feedback Session
This portion offers participants the opportunity to present their research and receive detailed feedback from established scholars.

Application Process:
You can participate in Part 1 (Panel Discussions) by simply completing this registration form. If you also wish to participate in Part 2 (Paper Feedback Session), in addition to completing the registration form for Part 1, you must upload a six-page extended abstract (PDF only) here.
Participants applying for the paper feedback session should submit a single PDF document containing:
- Title and author page
- Extended six-page abstract (including introduction, theoretical framework, methods, and preliminary findings). Proposals that highlight causal inference methods are especially welcome.
Important Dates:
- Submission Deadline: November 17th, 2024
- Notification of Acceptance: November 20th, 2024
- Workshop Date: November 26th, 2024, from 9h00 to 15h00 Brasília time (BRT, GMT-3)
We encourage full participation, but you may choose to attend only the first part if preferred. The workshop will be conducted in English and is open to all members of the strategy research community.
