    Strategic Management Area – Two (2) Assistant Professor Positions
    Tenure-Track Position
    The DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University invites applications for a (1) tenure-track position in the Strategic Management Area to be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will commence on July 1, 2024.
    The preferred candidate should have research expertise on a topic at the intersection of business strategy and sustainability broadly defined. These research areas may include: sustainability business models, corporate social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, sustainable innovation, stakeholder engagement, community inclusion, sustainable governance, circular economy, and sustainability performance measurement.
    The successful candidate must have (or be very near completion of) a Ph.D. in Strategic Management or related discipline from a reputable institution by the time of the appointment. They will possess excellent research, teaching and service skills.
    The successful candidate should demonstrate evidence or strong potential for productive research outcomes, such as publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and successful grant applications. Successful candidates will also demonstrate excellence in, or strong potential for, teaching and will be expected to contribute to DeGroote's academic programs at both its Hamilton and Burlington locations.
    The successful candidate will be expected to teach one or more courses including Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Strategic Management, International Business, or Business Government and the Global Environment in the undergraduate and/or MBA level and must have teaching experience with the case method. They may be asked to teach or develop other courses within the field of Strategic Management in our undergraduate and graduate programs, including MBA and/or EMBA. They will also be expected to support the School's initiatives within the business community and provide service to Area, Faculty and University-wide committees.
    Teaching-Track Position
    The DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University invites applications for a (1) teaching-track position in the Strategic Management Area to be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will commence on July 1, 2024.
    The preferred candidate should have teaching and/or work-related expertise on a topic related to strategic management. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to DeGroote's academic programs at both its Hamilton and Burlington locations. The successful candidate must have (or be very near completion of) a Ph.D. in Business Administration or related discipline from a reputable institution by the time of the appointment. They will possess excellent teaching, classroom and service skills and should have experience teaching with the case method.
    Strategic Management Area
    The Strategic Management Area is committed to excellence in research and teaching and boasts several award-winning instructors and researchers. The Area currently has eleven (11) faculty members and continues to grow. The Area will be launching its own PhD specialization in September 2024. Faculty members continue to conduct high-profile research and teach courses in a variety of areas within the field of Strategic Management in all programs of DeGroote.
