    1] Senior faculty position (Associate or Full Professor level) in Family Business.

    2] Education-Track / Clinical Faculty Position in Family Business

    Both positions start in Fall 2026 and the search will continue until the positions are filled but applications should be received by March 30th for full consideration.

    **** Senior faculty position (Associate or Full Professor level) in Family Business. ****

    Candidates with backgrounds in disciplines such as Strategy, Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Management and Law, are encouraged to apply, provided their research focuses primarily on issues related to Family Business / Family Firms.  The position can be affiliated with the relevant academic department at HEC Paris, depending on the qualification and background of the applicant.

    Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field and must have a demonstrated record of excellence in research, with publications in leading academic journals of their respective discipline. Successful candidates are expected to pursue high-impact research, contribute to the academic community, and provide outstanding teaching at the graduate and executive levels.

    This position also comes with the appointment as Academic Director of the newly launched HEC Paris Center for Family Business and the Dieter Schwarz Chair in Family Business.

    The HEC Center for Family Business is designed to become a premier hub for research, education, and outreach on the dynamics of family-owned enterprises, particularly across Europe. It aims to empower families to build resilient, sustainable ecosystems and to support their multi-generational growth through pioneering research, executive education, specialized curricula, conferences, and close collaboration with other world-class institutions.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for: Leading the Center's academic initiatives across research, education, and outreach. Supervising and advancing research projects aligned with the Center's mission. Supporting the development of Executive Education programs for family business leaders. Coordinating the development of new pedagogical materials focused on family firms. Building partnerships with academic, corporate, and policy stakeholders.

    Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a collaborative spirit to engage across departments, institutes, and external partners. Prior experience in institution-building, leading research centers, or developing academic initiatives will be valued.

    The position holder will benefit from a dynamic environment at HEC Paris, with privileged connections to the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute, the Sustainability and Organizations Institute, and the Hi! Paris AI for Society Institute. In addition, the Center will leverage HEC's extensive alumni network and global partnerships to amplify its impact.

    ***** Education-Track / Clinical Faculty Position specialized in Family Business *****

    Education-Track Faculty positions at HEC Paris are comparable to Clinical Professor or Professor of Practice positions. The successful candidate may be appointed within any of the academic departments of the school, depending on academic background and profile.

    The primary responsibilities will be to teach Family Business–related courses and to participate in academic leadership and pedagogical development across the School's programs - including our Masters programs, MBA, EMBA, and Executive Education. The successful candidate will also contribute actively to the HEC Paris Center for Family Business, a newly created initiative designed to become a premier European hub for research, education, and outreach on the dynamics of family-owned enterprises.

    English is the primary working and teaching language on campus.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Ph.D., D.B.A., or equivalent terminal degree in a field relevant to the study of family businesses (e.g., Strategy, Management, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Finance, Organizational Behavior, Sociology, or related disciplines).
    • Demonstrated record of excellent teaching at the university level.
    • Ability to teach Family Business–related courses across multiple program types (Masters, MBA, EMBA, Executive Education).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A proven track record of high-quality teaching in graduate and executive programs.
    • Experience working with family-owned firms or relevant practitioner experience that enables strong connections between theory and practice.
    • Demonstrated ability to design innovative curricula, pedagogical materials, or experiential learning modules related to family business, governance, ownership, succession, or entrepreneurship.
    • Experience in program direction, executive education development, or academic leadership roles.
    • A portfolio of practitioner-oriented outputs (cases, white papers, applied research reports, books, industry articles) is highly desirable.
    • Strong interest in contributing to the development and visibility of the HEC Paris Center for Family Business through education, outreach, partnerships, and thought leadership.
