Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the fifth annual Strategy Science Conference will organize a Doctoral Workshop on Thursday June 9, 2022. The Conference and the Workshop are hosted by the Center for the Future of Management at NYU’s Stern School of Business and co-sponsored by the journal Strategy Science.
The doctoral workshop is a half-day event organized around plenary and breakout sessions. The plenary sessions will address questions crowd-sourced from workshop participants. Breakout sessions will allow students to receive undivided attention from their peers and faculty mentors in a small group setting. The students will have opportunities to ask the faculty mentors for advice on the most pressing questions concerning their research.
Target audience and application process. The doctoral workshop is designed for students who are finishing or have recently finished their coursework and are in the early stages of their dissertation work (not targeting the upcoming job market cycle). Applicants should send a brief (3 to 4 page) statement of their research interests along with their CV and provide one letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Applications to the doctoral workshop should be uploaded to https://tinyurl.com/strasci-phd-workshop-2022 by March 18.
Venue. We really hope to hold the workshop in person, at NYU. But, we are prepared to host it remotely if necessary. In case the event indeed takes place in person, the organizers have secured special hotel rates for PhD students (starting from June 8). They will also cover the meals during the Workshop and the Conference. Students will have to cover travel and accommodation expenses from own funding.
Please share this information with PhD students who can benefit from this event.
