Dear colleagues,
The Social Networks Society (SNS) recognizes outstanding contributions to our field through two sets of awards, which will be presented at the SNS reception during the 2026 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.
We invite nominations for the 2026 SNS Awards described below. We are also seeking volunteers to serve on SNS Awards Committees for best papers and career awards. Deadline for nominations and volunteer expressions of interest is April 10, 2026.
For more information about the 2026 SNS awards or about the past recipients, please see https://www.socialnetworkssociety.org/awards.
Nominations
We invite nominations for the following SNS Career Awards:
- Distinguished Scholar Award – honoring sustained and exceptional contributions that have shaped the intellectual direction and impact of network research.
- Mid-Career Scholar Award – recognizing strong and sustained scholarly contributions and a clear trajectory of impact during the middle stages of an academic career.
- Junior Scholar Award – recognizing promising early-career scholars who have begun to make meaningful contributions to the field.
- Daniel J. Brass Fellowship – recognizing sustained and meaningful service to the SNS community and the broader scholarly field.
We also invite nominations for the following SNS Paper Awards:
- Best Network Paper Award – recognizing an outstanding empirical, methodological, conceptual, or review paper published in the past year.
- Network Research Decade Award – recognizing a paper published in the last ten years that has demonstrated enduring influence and relevance.
Volunteers
We also invite SNS members to volunteer to serve on either the Career or Paper Awards Committees. Serving on an awards committee is an important way to contribute to the Society and support the recognition of excellent scholarship in our field. The Career Awards Committee will be chaired by SNS past-president Joe Labianca, while the Paper Awards Committee will be chaired by SNS past-president Julia Brennecke.
